Bio

Andrew M. Jackson was born and raised in southern Illinois. He has one sibling, an older brother, whom has been involved in computers and electronics from an early age. Because of this, Andrew began tinkering with computers and sinking most of his time into the stories and characters of early computer games. This started him initially thinking his career would be that of a game programmer.

When Andrew entered high school, his technical and creative mindset landed him the role of lighting director for the school musicals. Along with a greater exposure to films at this time, the theater made him realize that he was not interested in programming, but telling stories. Andrew decided at this point to change his focus from computer programming to cinema.

Several years later, Andrew became a graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC), earning a Bachelor of Arts degree, specializing in Cinema. The Cinema Degree from SIU encompasses several areas including film history, analysis, theory, editing, writing, directing, producing, sound recording, and cinematography. When Andrew entered film school, he was unsure of what path to take, but all of these experiences helped him determine which area to focus in: directing.

After making numerous films and videos, including his first feature, “Farm”, Andrew enjoys directing more than ever. He loves being at the helm of every project, guiding every element of filmmaking to make sure they come together to complement one another and tell the best possible story.
